Terms of use

Version 0.2 (draft) · Last updated 8 October 2026

Draft under review. This text has not been approved yet and may change.

These terms apply when you use Vault. By using it, you agree to them.

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Vault, you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use Vault.

If you use Vault for a company or organisation, you confirm that you have the authority to accept these terms for it.

2. The service

Vault lets a team connect Google Drive folders or upload files, ask questions about them, manage who can see what, and see activity. Files in Google Drive stay in Drive and are only read. Files uploaded to Vault are stored by Vault. The text read from documents is stored so that questions can be answered.

3. Accounts and workspaces

You can sign in with Google, or with an email address and password.

The person who creates a workspace is its owner. Owners can invite people, give them roles (admin or member), manage settings, export the workspace's data, and close it. Admins manage the workspace day to day.

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in secure, for who you give access to in your workspace, and for making sure the people you invite follow these terms.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use Vault for anything unlawful;
  • try to reach another company's workspace or information;
  • copy, reverse engineer or modify Vault;
  • interfere with Vault's security or performance;
  • share your sign-in details or your workspace's AI keys with people who should not have them.

5. Your information

How Vault handles information is described in the privacy policy. Settings → Your data gives a statement, produced from your workspace's live set-up, of where your data is kept and which services handle it.

If you add your own AI key, it is stored encrypted and used only to run your workspace's AI provider.

6. Export and closing

The workspace owner can download an export of the workspace's data, which leaves out chats, the questions people asked, the original uploaded files, stored secrets, sign-in details and support tickets. The owner can also close the workspace in Settings. It is kept for 30 days, during which the owner can ask us to reopen it, and is then permanently deleted. The privacy policy describes what that covers.

7. Answers can be wrong

Vault is a productivity tool and does not give legal, financial or other professional advice. Answers are written by AI and can be inaccurate or incomplete. Check the source before relying on an answer.

8. Availability

Vault is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that it will always be available or free of errors.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, Vault and the people who run it are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service.

10. Changes

We may change or stop Vault, or any part of it, and may update these terms. Using Vault after a change means you accept it.

11. Suspending or ending access

We may pause or end a workspace, or an account, that breaks these terms or harms the service. When we do, we give the workspace a reason where we can.

12. Contact
